Something to be joyful about in these troubling times - the birth of our fourth grandchild, Sofia! ...

Not much to celebrate on publication day, except to be reminded of Shakespeare’s words, “For we will live, and laugh at this hereafter”. My best wishes to everyone. 📚📖 #shakespeareweek #reading #lovebooks ...

I’m working from my home in Cambridge rather than Mallorca where I would normally be at this time of year. A very different view from my desk, but just as peaceful. First task, editing the final proofs of Hidden in Plain Sight, which is out in October. The first book in the series, Nothing Ventured, is out in paperback tomorrow, and I do hope it will cheer you up in these troubled times. https://www.panmacmillan.com/authors/jeffrey-archer/nothing-ventured/9781509851300 Best wishes to all my readers and followers. 📚☕️ #reading #workingfromhome ...

And here’s the Danish edition of Nothing Ventured, also our this month, published by @lindhardtogringhof #denmark #books #reading ...

Onto your next question for Jeffrey #AsktheAuthor:

Q: What was the most fun scene to write in #NothingVentured? (I really like the courtroom scenes!)

A: 'I always enjoy writing villains, and they’re always more fun to write than the good guys. Almost any scene Miles Faulkner is in has my heart racing, and you can be assured he will be surviving throughout the series – despite his villainy.'

Mary and I are remaining at our home in Cambridge for the coming weeks, which means I have the chair of the Science Museum at my disposal. As a layman, I ask her questions and she takes me through the science. On Thursday she was excited to learn two things, firstly, that there may be an important breakthrough if the scientists discover who has HAD the coronavirus; and secondly, that the test on a patient suffering with the virus could be very important. We both have huge admiration for NHS staff for their professionalism, dedication and organisational skills.
Thank you Mary for the photo of the garden on the first day of Spring!

In these terrible times, the birth of Sofia has been a joy for the family - my second granddaughter, just 3 days old!

My heart goes out to all friends in India who will be suffering so terribly at the moment. Do not imagine we are only thinking about ourselves. Best wishes to you all.

If you're looking for something to watch while in isolation, I recommend a brilliant French comedy on Netflix - Call My Agent. I’ve been watching it between writing sessions and salute not only its wit, but the very fine acting that goes with it.

Calling local pubs, takeaways & supermarkets - would you consider donating your remaining stocks to turn into meals for @CUH_NHS staff? ** Please do not attend the hospital with offers of food or anything else). Email support@act4addenbrookes.org.uk**

I had been saving #NothingVentured for a rainy day...guess a #pandemic counts. Incredible book @Jeffrey_Archer but best of all I felt like I was visiting with a dear friend. Thank you for 25 yrs of friendship & stories. I especially needed you now. Keep well!
