Early publication
By Jeffrey Archer Archer ~ Thu, 2012-02-23 12:38
I've spent the last three days doing telephone interviews, north, south, east and west of Australia and New Zealand, for my latest book, The Sins of the Father, which will be published there at the beginning of March. I've had several kind offers from irreverent journalists asking if I want to be Australia's next Minister for Foreign Affairs, but I explained that I wasn't looking for a part-time job. The book will also be launched in India before the UK, at the World Book Fair in Delhi on March 3rd. Indian readers often email me saying how touched they are that I put them first, but the truth is, wherever the book is published in the world, it'll be on the streets of India at half price, 48 hours later. So quite rightly my publisher, and I suspect every other publishing house, makes damn sure that the first bookshop to get any novel will be the Indian sub-continent. If you're one of my Indian readers and would like to download an excerpt of The Sins of the Father, and also have a chance to win a copy of the book, go to PanMcMillan India's Facebook page, by clicking on this link.

Hi Jeff,
Can "The Sins of the Father" be read as standalone or should I complete the "Only Time will Tell" to understand the story? I tried reading the other reviews, but I couldn't get an appropriate answer. Hence decided to get it from the horse's mouth instead.
Regards,
Baskar
Certainly the five books in The Clifton Chronicles will make up the complete story of Harry Clifton's life and adventures, and I feel you'd get more out of it having read the first book. But I've tried to make it so that each novel could be read as a stand-alone book.
Maybe you could consider writing about how the Indian Street market achieves such an impossible feat. I could do the research on your behalf... :-)
Dear Sir Jeffrey,
You are one of my favourite authers.
I'm very much looking forward to reading Only Time Will Tell - Clifton Chronicles Book 1which I've just received on my "Kindle"
I do believe we played darts together on a very small Aft deck of a cruise ship many moons ago.
Do you remember, a Yorkshire girl living in Sydney, who sent more darts over board than into the dart board?
