Jeffrey to appear in Hyderabad this weekend
Jeffrey will be in Hyderabad in India to talk about the 30th anniversary edition of Kane and Abel, and will be doing two book signings.
He will be taking part in a reading and signing event on Sunday 8 November at 6.30pm at Landmark’s new flagship bookstore in Banjara Hills. Then, on Monday 9 November at 5.30pm, Jeffrey will be signing copies of the book at Landmark, Somajiguda.

A Prisoner of Birth nominated for award
The audio edition of A Prisoner of Birth, read by Roger Allam, was a finalist in the 2009 Audie Awards in the Fiction category. The Audies, sponsored by the Audio Publishers Association (APA), is the premier awards program in the US recognising distinction in audiobooks and spoken word entertainment.

First Among Equals US DVD out now
The TV mini-series of Jeffrey’s novel, First Among Equals, starring Tom Wilkinson, was first shown on British television in 1986. It is now available from Acorn Media in the USA only. The DVD is coded Region 1 (North America) so will only play on an All-Region DVD player. It is now available on amazon.com.

Archbishop Tutu reads audio version of 'Gospel'
The audio version of The Gospel According to Judas is read by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and it marks the first time that Archbishop Tutu, who describes the book as "riveting and plausible", has participated in a project of this kind.

The book and audio version were released in the UK by Macmillan on 20 March 2007. The book also saw simultaneous publication on March 20th in six other countries, a unique event in the publishing world.

Jeffrey appears on BBC2 in 'The Verdict'

Jeffrey played one of 12 jurors debating a fictional court case on BBC2 programme, The Verdict. The show is now over, but you can still watch a clip of Jeffrey discussing his role.

Cat 'O Nine Tales short story collection now available
Richly illustrated by internationally
acclaimed artist Ronald Searle, many of the stories in Cat O'Nine Tales have a prison
theme, inspired by Jeffrey's own experience. Jeffrey's fifth collection of short stories is now available in the UK in hardback, and the book is also available as a special limited edition.

Baroness Thatcher unveils statue at the Archers' home
In
June 2006, Baroness Margaret Thatcher spent the weekend with the Archers in
Cambridge, which culminated in her unveiling a statue of Rupert
Brooke. Brooke lived at the Old Vicarage (Jeffrey and Mary's house)
between 1910 and 1912 and immortalized the house with a poem of
the same name.
